The Douglas Shire is a unique environment and is renowned nationally and internationally as a premier tourism destination. The region attracts many thousands of domestic and international visitors each year and is the only place in the world where two World Heritage-listed areas meet – the Great Barrier Reef and the Wet Tropics Rainforest.

The region also boasts some of the most beautiful parks and beaches in Queensland, with a swimming enclosure provided at Four Mile beach during marine stinger season – typically from November to May (subject to seasonal variability).

For information on tours and travel, climate, accommodation, dining and things to see and do in the region, please visit Destination Daintree  or the Tourism Port Douglas & Daintree website.

The FREE Tropical North Queensland mobile app is the free and official guide to our region.  It covers the entire Tropical North Queensland including Port Douglas, Mossman, Daintree, Cape Tribulation, the Great Barrier Reef and surrounds right up to Cape York.

For those travelling from outside Australia all information including maps, augmented reality and travel content is accessible offline to avoid roaming charges.  The mobile app is available for iPhone and Android phones, and is produced and managed by Tourism Tropical North Queensland.
