Council makes submission for missing link in cycle network
DOUGLAS Shire Council will lodge a submission to the Cycle Network Local Government Grants Program to complete a cycling path from Mossman to Cooya Beach.
The current route runs from Mossman to Junction Bridge, however there is no dedicated bike path across the road bridge, which is traversed by a railway line.
There is a section of off-road bike pathway that ends about 2.6 km from Cooya Beach.
Council will also seek funding to undertake a detailed design of a cycleway from North Mossman to Newell Beach.
