New Arts Committee member elected
ARTIST Sabine Hoeng has become the fifth member of the local Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) Committee.
Council established a RADF committee to oversee the RADF program in accordance with guidelines.
Committee members are to promote the program, evaluate applications and advise on arts and cultural matters in the Shire.
The current RADF Committee comprises Cr Abigail Noli, Jill Chism, Perry Harrison and Lynda Irvine.
Wonga Beach Caravan Park interim caretaker to be appointed
CARETAKER accommodation will be built at Wonga Beach Caravan Park to entice more applicants to apply for the management role.
Douglas Shire Council approved a $140,000 allocation to construct the accommodation.
An interim caretaker will be appointed for three months

Millman Drive Playground to stay
A SIX-month trial of a playground in Craiglie has netted a positive response from the community.
A survey of the Millman Drive estate found 96% of respondents supported the playground.
The survey has highlighted some minor maintenance, landscaping and infrastructure improvements that could easily be made to the park area including installation of bench seating and planting of additional shade and screening landscaping.
