A LEADING local government Chief Executive Officer has been appointed to the top job at Douglas Shire Council.
Highly qualified executive, Ms Rachel Brophy (nee Cooper), will start work at Council’s Mossman Administration Building on February 14 next year after accepting the position today.
With over 15 years’ experience as a CEO and Corporate Executive in both State and Local Government, Ms Cooper has been instrumental in leading complex organisations through change and achieving measurable results in growth and efficiency.
Ms Brophy is a proven strategic thinker and facilitator for change, with an impressive track record of building strong stakeholder relationships and high-performing teams.
She most recently held the CEO position at North Burnett Regional Council.
Douglas Shire Mayor Michael Kerr said he was looking forward to working closely with such a highly respected leader.

Ms Brophy brings a wealth of experience and impressive qualifications in law, financial management, marketing, and business management.
