A COTTER’S Christmas Hamper is shaping up to be the best Christmas prize in Douglas, and all you need to do is visit the Port Douglas markets for your chance to win.

In the spirit of a cotter’s market, the hamper is an eclectic collection of lovingly hand-crafted gifts. From jewellery, to clothing vouchers, mobiles, sarongs, notebooks, hand-painted wine glasses, to food vouchers, coffee vouchers and so much more.

Douglas Shire Mayor Michael Kerr will draw the hamper winner at the Cotter’s Christmas at Port Douglas Markets on December 19.  The Christmas event will feature carol singers, performers, a special visit from Santa and a competition for the best Christmas themed stall in addition to the Cotter’s Christmas Hamper prize draw.

To enter, punters must visit the Port Douglas markets, take a photo of themselves at the market and complete a quick online entry form to enter the draw to win before December 19.

Port Douglas Markets Coordinator, Mandy Stone, is keen to see the Hamper prize draw attract more local visitors over the coming weeks.

“We have such a wonderful representation of Cotter’s stall holders at the Port Douglas Markets and it’s fantastic to see all our stall holders embrace the hamper and donate beautiful gifts,” she said.

“The Port Douglas markets has been quiet, and while we look forward to welcoming our interstate visitors back next month, we are keen to raise spirits now and help our stall holders get through the coming weeks.”

“We encourage everyone from Cairns to the Tablelands, Port Douglas to Mossman and Daintree to come and do some Christmas shopping at the Port Douglas Markets. Support our stall holders and enter the draw to win the hamper – you could have Christmas all wrapped up if you are the lucky winner.”

In addition to the hamper, Council has donated a second prize of a $100 voucher to be spent at the Port Douglas Markets.

Visit Council’s website to discover more, and access the online entry form. Please note you must attend the Port Douglas Markets to be eligible to win.
