DOUGLAS seniors will have the chance to hit the road when Seniors Week 2018 celebrations kick off next week.
Free movies, an exercise workshop and a day out to Mareeba features in a jam-packed schedule for Douglas Shire Seniors.
Douglas Shire Council is again supporting Seniors Week.
Mayor Julia Leu said it was a chance to celebrate the region’s refined folk.
“Our seniors play such an important role in our community,” she said.
“They are the keepers of Douglas Shire’s great stories and are inspirational to our younger residents.
“I encourage Seniors to come down to the Mossman Library to check out some of our latest technology on offer.”
Mossman Library will host a Tech Savvy Seniors workshop on Wednesday 10.30am to introduce interested participants to coding and robotics.
Queensland Seniors Week provides opportunities to promote positive community attitudes towards older people and ageing, facilitate community participation, and  enhance community connections.
