Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads will be doing resealing works in Douglas Shire from 11 August 2020 to 15 September 2020, weather permitting.

  • Mossman Mt Molloy Rd Between Captain Cook Hwy and Hunter Creek (Pashens Bridge)
  • Captain Cook Hwy – Between McCelland Road and Killaloe Dump Road
  • Captain Cook Hwy – Between Ellis Beach and Oak Beach

Crews will be onsite between 6am and 6pm, Monday to Saturday, and the works will involve resealing the road surface to extend the life of the road pavement and reduce the formation of pot holes.

The Department has advised nearby residents may experience noise associated with the works and vibrations while the work is carried out. The contractor will take all reasonable and practicable actions to minimise impacts on nearby residents.

For the safety of road users and maintenance crews, changed traffic conditions will be in place including temporary speed limit reductions, and single lane operation under coordination of traffic controllers while the works are carried out. Road users may experience minor delays and plan accordingly.

Variable Message Signs will be in place to advise motorists of the changed traffic conditions and will also update any changes in dates due to weather delays.

If you require further information, you are encouraged to contact Ms Maria Mezes by email at cairns.office@tmr.qld.gov.au or by telephone on 4045 7038.
