The Douglas Local Disaster Management Group (LDMG) would like to encourage residents to be proactive and fill bags sooner rather than later.
Please take a shovel to ensure you are able to fill your sandbags.
A Flood Watch has been issued and heavy rainfall associated with a tropical low is expected on Wednesday to Thursday.
Sand and sandbags are now available at:
- PORT DOUGLAS: Crocs AFL carpark, access via Wharf Street.
PLEASE close the bin to protect other bags from getting wet.
- MOSSMAN: Mossman SES shed at the rear of Council’s Administration Building in Mossman, access via 64-66 Front Street.
- DAINTREE VILLAGE: Daintree Village RFS/SES shed.
Remember: If it’s flooded, forget it. Please be courteous in your responses. Our small disaster crew has worked long hours with COVID and are doing the best they can.
