LOCAL kids can jump on and splash around an inflatable obstacle course at the Mossman Pool this Australia Day.
Douglas Shire Council is hosting a free community event featuring a sausage sizzle, entertainment, and other free activities on Friday, January 26.
Mossman Pool staff will again float the popular Aqua Glide to help people beat the heat and celebrate Australia Day.
The Australia Day event at the Mossman Pool will run from 10am to 3pm.
Douglas Shire Mayor Michael Kerr said he hoped families make the most of the free entry.
“It was a disruptive and sometimes stressful festive season and summer holidays so our young people deserve some fun,” Mayor Kerr said.
“If you haven’t made plans for Australia Day yet then come on down and enjoy what’s on offer.”
Council will host the 2023 Australia Day Awards and Citizenship Ceremony at the Port Douglas Community Hall on Friday January 26.
The Rotary Club will host the free barbecue breakfast from 7.30am.
All events are open to the public.
