Council would like to remind residents that cutting down coconut palms or planting on council-controlled land is an offence under the Local Laws.
Both practices are strictly prohibited and council will be monitoring areas to ensure our beaches are protected from this unlawful activity.
If anyone is interesting in beach planting, please contact council on (07) 4099 9492 so we can organise planting days with an appropriate vegetation species.
Our outdoors crews are keen to work with the community to alleviate any concerns or answer questions about foreshore vegetation management.
You can report suspected offending to enquiries@douglas.qld.gov.au
