The Queensland Government has called for ecotourism operators to register their interest to develop eco-accommodation on the Wangetti Trail.

The iconic 94-kilometre trail along the Great Barrier Reef coast from Palm Cove to Port Douglas is set to become a must-do tourism experience in Far North Queensland.

The State Government is looking for proponents interested in operating the trail’s eco-accommodation and conducting guided tours with the traditional owners.

The trail is expected to increase the popularity of multi-day walking and mountain biking attractions and create new reasons to visit Queensland’s Tropical North.

The Wangetti Trail project is expected to create up to 150 jobs and pump more than $300 million into the local economy in years to come.

Parties wishing to register their interest should visit:

Registrations close at 2pm on Thursday 25 July 2019.
