Two days of making, mending, reusing and rewearing. Join us at the Port Douglas Community Hall on 17th & 18th October for a weekend celebrating creativity, community and giving things a second life.
Whether you want to learn a new skill, breathe new life into something old, clear out your wardrobe or uncover a second-hand treasure, ReLoved Weekend is all about using what we have and loving it for longer.

Sew Sustainably is a hands-on day dedicated to repairing, reusing, repurposing and getting creative with textiles. Explore workshops, demonstrations, displays and come-and-try activities designed to inspire you to rethink what we throw away.
Learn practical skills, discover creative ideas and see how something worn, damaged or forgotten can be transformed and loved all over again.

Thrifted Threads Community Garage Sale

Clear out your wardrobe or come along and find your next favourite piece!
Thrifted Threads is a community garage sale dedicated entirely to pre-loved clothing, shoes and accessories.
Buy, sell, browse and discover great second-hand finds while helping keep perfectly good clothing in circulation and out of landfill.
From everyday basics and kids’ clothes to vintage finds, accessories and hidden gems, it’s a chance to refresh your wardrobe without buying new.
Pre-loved. Re-worn. Re-loved.

When is it happening?
Community Garage Sale takes place on the 18th October, from 8am to 12 noon.
Who is the event for?
The Giant Community Garage Sale is for everyone in the community. For households it’s a great way to declutter and make some money, while community groups, charities and schools can also jump on board to fundraise with a stall.
Why is council getting involved?
The Giant Community Garage Sale is being provided to residents as part of council’s commitment to reducing waste to landfill and to help residents reuse and reduce waste at home.
The event also helps residents make or save money by buying or selling pre-loved items
What other activities will be available on the day?
We have planned a fabulous family day out which includes:
- Free facepainting
- Free craft stall for the children
- Free jumping castle and games
- Free petting zoo
- Free Wildlife Habitat Roaming Display
- Free organic waste workshop
- School Waste To Wonder Art exhibition
- Sausage Sizzle (paid)
- Coffee van (paid)
- Icecream Van (paid)
What is the ‘Garage Sale Trail’?
Garage Sale Trail is run by an Australian not-for-profit, called Garage Sale Trail Foundation, in partnership with more than 90 councils across Australia.
What time is it on?
The event starts at 8am and runs until 12 noon.
What does it cost?
Stallholder fee is $30 plus a 2% processing fee.
Entry into the event on the day is free for everyone
I don’t want to host a stall. Can I still get involved?
Join us on the day; we will have loads of food and activities for everyone to enjoy.
Do I get a free seller pack?
Yes! Once you register to be a stallholder a Stallholder Kit will be emailed to you. Check spam for the email if it has not been received.
Who gets the money raised?
The money made from the sale of items at the event is the stallholders.
The stallholder fee ($30 plus processing fee) collected by Council is used to cover stallholder insurance and staff wages
I can no longer participate. How do I cancel my stall?
Please lodge your cancellation 7 days prior to the event (8th of Nov) via email enquiries@douglas.qld.gov.au

No, this event is pet free
How many stallholder places are available? What stall will I get?
A maximum of 45 places stallholder places are available. Stalls will be allocated to stallholders on the day.
