Douglas Shire Council is in the midst of replacing critical water reticulation infrastructure in Port Douglas.

This work will require four, 8-hour shutdowns of one of the water mains, over four consecutive days [total of 24 hours].

Before this occurs, we will do a trial shutdown for one hour, between 2pm and 3pm, Thursday 29 June.

During the trial, it is expected that all Island Point Road properties, as well as the Villa San Michele and other tenancies at the complex at 39-41 Macrossan Street, will have no water.

It is expected that businesses and homes in the rest of Port Douglas will still have water but may experience low water pressure.

The purpose of the trial shutdown is to confirm which properties experience low water pressure and those properties where supply is cut completely.

What if I experience a loss of water supply, or a drop in water pressure?

Please call 4099 9444 to log your address, and impact e.g. loss of water supply, or low water pressure with one of our customer service officers.
