Overview
The Port Douglas Skate Park is nearing the end of its life.
In 2022, Douglas Shire Council engaged Trinity Skateparks to prepare a new design. After spending time in Port Douglas talking to skateboarders, and gathering ideas, they prepared concept designs to replace the current park.
Two design concepts were produced and published early in 2023, so the community could review the two design options and provide feedback. Feedback closed 8 May 2023.
The final design was completed early in 2024. Since that time, Douglas Shire Council has been closely monitoring Federal and State Government Grants to financially assist with the construction stage.
