The popular learn-to-swim program will return to the Mossman Pool for another lap this summer.
Families can now register for the 10-week program which offers lessons for local children aged five months and older.
Classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting 4 October 2022.
For children 4 years and older, students are assessed on ability and assigned a class to ensure each child will be getting the most from their classes.
Douglas Shire Mayor Michael Kerr said the program was a fantastic excuse to get kids into the pool at a young age.
“Since 2019, the Mossman learn to swim program has been really popular among local families who jumped at the opportunity to get their children in water,” he said.
“We live in a very hot, tropical area which lends itself to spending plenty of time in the pool and this program makes sure our local kids are confident swimmers.”
“The learn to swim program is a great grassroots initiative that promotes health, wellbeing and safety in the community.”
